What habits do you have that can boost your productivity?

What routines are slowing you down?

We all deal with a variety of circumstances and tasks that we either love or hate. But, sometimes, there is no way around it.

For example - you shudder at the thought of cleaning your home. Money to hire a maid has seldom existed. This time the budget is nil. You elect to do the cleaning yourself.

Another example may be when your motivation and inspiration increase every time you think of travel, but circumstances at home make it again, "Not now." Uncertainty, children, COVID-19 (I know, I'm tired of it too) or worrisome employment turn dreams to reality. Not now becomes not ever.

What will you do? Will you stop and let your motivations drown you? True, this is your choice. Options seem like a branch too far to reach. There is always an option. We have to get out of our way to see it. I’ll show you another way.

Part1. Routines you hate, such as cleaning, organizing things, checking your calendar, or doing groceries. Those things you can delegate. If this isn’t an option due to your budget, you can organize those routine tasks. First, set a specific time to complete these tasks. This holds you accountable for doing it.

Next, divide small sub-tasks. For example, with cleaning, do vacuum one day and dust the next. In terms of groceries, do so two to three times weekly. Plan a weekly menu.

The third step is to be aware of alternatives for optimizing, reorganizing, optimizing, and simplifying routines. If your favorite grocery store offers delivery, use it. The expenses of gas plus time make this advantageous for you.

And with cleaning, if you can purchase a robot vacuum cleaner or children are at an age where they can help with some chores, take the time to reorganize.

The same applies to absolutely any routine. Make it fun! Organize, set a specific time, simplify, reorganize, delegate, and so on.

Part 2. Motivational activities. During the pandemic, there are probably many activities you want to do, but you can’t. Going to a restaurant is unlikely with closures. Rather than focus on what you can’t do, alternatively, focus on things under your control. Take a remote cooking class from home.

You can change up your menu. Dress up your table. Make something special.

Even you alone make every day and every meal an adventure. You deserve it!

Imagine you like traveling. It inspires and motivates you. Recognize that life happens. There may be reasons that make this seemingly impossible. What can you do?

Consider subscribing to the travel channel. Read about different cultures. Learn a new language.

Always look for other things that you enjoy. There isn’t any reason to torment yourself about what you can’t do. Your attitude can change your surroundings. Create your self-motivational routine with little activities that boost your spirit.

Keep going, and enjoy your life.
